What to Expect on the First Visit
At Little Bee’s Pediatric Dentistry, we encourage parents to bring their children to the office as soon as possible; ideally, when their first tooth appears. During the first visit, our team will take the time to speak with you and answer any questions you may have about your child’s dental care. When you are ready, we will begin by checking your child’s teeth and jaw to determine that they are developing properly. Our dentist will also examine your child’s gums and oral tissues to make sure they are healthy.
The parents of our little bees are kept informed throughout the entire appointment and are notified of any issues that require additional care or treatment. Our team will pay special attention to topics of teething, thumb-sucking habits, tooth decay, and thorough teeth cleaning practices. We encourage you to bring a small toy for your child to keep them comfortable during the visit and we will work to accommodate that. At our office, our team will do all that we can to give your child an incredible experience from the first appointment onwards!
After the Examination
Once we have completed your child’s first examination, we will have a better understanding of your child’s specific needs. Our team will provide you with tips and techniques, tailored to your child directly. We will be happy to provide you with information on cavity prevention, proper use of fluoride, and instructions to maintain healthy oral hygiene and nutrition.
